Dr. Christopher Gehrz

Chris Gehrz (PhD, Yale) is professor of history at Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota, where teaches courses on modern European, military/diplomatic, sports, and religious history and has previously served as department chair and faculty president.
Chris recently wrote a religious biography of aviator Charles Lindbergh and co-edited a devotional featuring forty Christian historians. But most of his publications concern the Christian tradition known as Pietism, with books including The Pietist Option: Hope for the Renewal of Christianity (IVP Academic, 2017) and The Pietist Vision of Christian Higher Education: Forming Whole and Holy Persons (IVP Academic, 2015). He also blogs regularly at The Pietist Schoolman and the Patheos group blog The Anxious Bench.
Chris lives in Roseville, Minnesota with his wife Katie and their two children. He currently attends Roseville Lutheran Church.
