Mark Sargent

Mark Sargent is the Provost and a Professor of English at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California.  Prior to joining Westmont in 2012, he served for 16 years as the Provost of Gordon College in Massachusetts.  A former Fulbright scholar at the University of Utrecht, he has written on American literature, film and higher education, and was recently the co-editor (with Harold Heie) of Soul Care: Christian Faith and Academic Administration.  In 2008 the Council of Independent Colleges awarded him the national Chief Academic Officers Award.
